We absolutely cannot do this alone, and WOW is grateful to our many friends, sponsors and kindred spirits for their continuing support. In these difficult economic times local, federal and philanthropic dollars are shrinking ever smaller. Arts programs continue to disappear from our schools. It's imperative that community organizations get busy to ensure equal and continued access to innovative and effective programs, especially for minority youth.
WOW partners with other nonprofit groups, regional and national grantors, corporations, faith-based groups of all denominations, celebrities and private citizens alike to keep that creative candle burning in the windows of our communities.
In 2011/2012 WOW will be undertaking a major expansion of its curriculum, student outreach and recruitment, scope of events and even our programming facilities. We'll be embarking on our first-ever capital campaign, and we'll need our friends like never before. There's lots of exciting news ahead, and we're looking forward to sharing all the new developments.
With Our Words, Inc. invites you to join us in our efforts and share in our successes. Thanks to you, young people from Stockton and the Central Valley have traveled all over the country, shared the stage with hip hop icons and opera stars, been filmed by HBO, London TV, the Sundance Channel and even performed at some of Hollywood's biggest events. They are becoming powerful peer mentors and workshop facilitators. They're growing as leaders with every opportunity we provide for them. But most importantly, they are walking across graduation stages and into higher education. To date, WOW has a 100% high school graduation rate, and a 93% college attendance rate among the members of its Youth Poetry Collective.
